SeaTac

When one speaks of SeaTac, it is often not known whether one is speaking about the city or the airport. In fact, in an effort to distinguish itself from the airport, the city of SeaTac decided to spell its name without a hyphen while spelling the airport with a hyphen, Sea-Tac.

Needless to say, the city and airport are intricately entwined. In a town of only 25,500 residents, the airport is a significant employer in the region, with 14,500 airport employees, 6,000 airport-related jobs off-site and 78,000 jobs in tourism tied indirectly to the airport. In addition, more than 75,000 passengers use the airport each day--clearly it is the hub of the city.

SeaTac also features a number of local parks, as well as Highline School District's Madrona Elementary School on SeaTac's southeast side.
